Chacun de nous peut être créatif, mais nous avons des moments pendant lesquels nous sommes plus inspirés que d’autres.
Ces autres moments, c’est quand il ne se passe généralement rien, qu’on ne sait pas quelles photos nous pourrions faire. Les fois où l’imagination est absente et que nous nous sentons bloqués. Nous cherchons, mais nous n’arrivons à rien.
Tout le monde est à un moment ou un autre passé par là.
Voici six façons de sortir de cette ornière photographique et de retomber sur vos pieds.
1. Choisissez un lieu
Le choix d’un lieu précis peut agir comme un révélateur pour votre créativité.
Forcez-vous à vous tenir au même endroit pendant une heure et prenez une photo toutes les trois ou quatre minutes. Certaines images peuvent montrer des personnes qui marchent dans les rues de la ville, tandis que d’autres mettent en évidence l’architecture ou la circulation aux heures de pointe.
2. Choisissez un moment de la journée
La lumière fait toute la différence lorsqu’on prend une photo. Selon l’heure de la journée ou les conditions météo, la lumière peut être dure, inégale, plate, dorée ou bleue. Parfois, les meilleures photos sont prises lorsque nous jouons avec les ombres. Photographiez lorsque le soleil se couche ou se lève et voyez les possibilités qui s’offrent à vous. Entraînez-vous à utiliser l’ouverture et la vitesse d’obturation pour obtenir des résultats inhabituels.
3. Photographiez d’un autre point de vue, d’en haut ou d’en bas.
Qu’est-ce qui se passe si vous choisissez de faire votre photo d’un point de vue en hauteur. Et que se passe-t-il si vous photographiez d’un point de vue bas ?
Que se passe-t-il si vous vous retournez et que vous preniez une photo de quelque chose qui se trouve derrière vous ?
En essayant différents exercices de ce type, vous pourrez faire des photos totalement différentes de celles habituellement prises par d’autres photographes.
4. Pensez à l’espace de copie
De nombreux acheteurs de vos images sont des graphistes qui font de la publicité pour leurs clients. Ils ont besoin de ce qu’on appelle dans le métier d’un espace de copie, c’est-à-dire un emplacement dans la photo où ils peuvent placer un texte décrivant un produit ou un service. En plaçant l’objet dans le coin gauche ou droit, ou en haut ou en bas du cadre de votre photo, vous laisserez cet espace négatif indispensable.
5. Concentrez-vous sur les motifs
Il y a des motifs et des textures partout autour de nous. On n’y prête tout simplement pas attention. Fixez-vous une limite de temps – peut être un jour, une semaine, voire un mois – où c’est la seule chose que vous allez photographier.
Rapprochez-vous de la texture d’un mur, de la pierre, de l’ombre, de la lumière, de la dentelle, de la texture d’un tissu, de grains de café renversés sur la table, d’une grappe de raisins, de pétales de fleurs, d’une vieille serrure d’une porte d’entrée, de fissures dans un trottoir, etc.
Quand on fait attention à ces petits détails de la vie, de la nature, on finit par faire des photos intéressantes.
6. Marcher dans une nouvelle rue
Si vous avez l’habitude de prendre toujours un même itinéraire dans votre quartier, pourquoi ne pas essayer de changer celui-ci ?
À votre grande surprise, un nouveau monde apparaîtra devant vous. Vous remarquerez des choses que vous n’aviez jamais vues auparavant. En changeant simplement de direction, vous aurez une pléthore de matériel neuf à photographier. Assurez-vous de marcher dans une autre rue, de tourner à un nouveau coin, de trouver d’autres chemins intéressants quand vous êtes dehors avec votre appareil photo.
